1983 Entry
Westend — Hurricane
Representing Austria at the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest .
Pop group (1983) founded for the Eurovision Song Contest. The Austrian entry "Hurricane" was their first and their last cooperation. The performance of this catchy synth-pop song with a touch of schlager is thougt to be the first appearance of a boy band at the Grand Prix TV show. That's not quite correct, even if the vocals were only sung by the male members of Westend, but on stage they were supported by a female group member - dancer Patricia Tandien.
Trumpeter, percussionist and singer, born 31st December 1954 in Vienna, Austria.
Gerhard "Gary" Lux is a Canadian-born Austrian singer, most famous for having represented his country in the Eurovision Song Contest on six occasions.
Peter van Asten (born 25 April 1951) is a Dutch musician, songwriter and record producer.
